My name is Alan Smith Robertson, I'm a British ex-pat and I have been living in Extremadura (Spain) since 1994. I'm an English teacher and currently headmaster of an Official School of Languages.

Tales of Extremadura is a collection of Extremaduran tales which, although I have written them myself, are based on existing stories and legends. The project was inspired by Washington Irving's Tales of the Alhambra.

  • “The more proudly a mansion has been tenanted in the day of its prosperity, the humbler are its inhabitants in the day of its decline” - Washington Irving, Tales of the Alhambra
  • “How unworthy is my scribbling of the place.” - Washington Irving, Tales of the Alhambra
